Ultra-Reliable Network
Without DNS, the Internet might as well be down. Since nobody can afford to be offline for any reason, we run a distributed global network with layers of redundancy. That is how we deliver zero downtime.

OpenDNS runs multiple servers at multiple locations with three different Tier 1 bandwidth providers keeping us connected. If a datacenter were offline for any reason, all traffic is re-routed automatically using anycast technology to the next-closest location.
We're open about our DNS
Providing safer, faster and smarter DNS is important; being reliable is the foundation. OpenDNS takes this responsibility seriously, and transparency about our service uptime and performance is critical. So, we update our System Status page at least every 5 minutes at http://system.opendns.com/. And, just to be safe, the OpenDNS System Status is available at http://208.67.219.60/ so you're informed even if your DNS is not available.
Also, you may choose to get notifications of any OpenDNS incidents via the OpenDNS System RSS Feed.
